Fort Morgan Alabama March 2021 Fishing Report

The Sheepshead bite is red hot and will continue into April. Live or fresh dead shrimp is best.

The Pompano are on the beaches looking for sand fleas, small bait fish and shrimp. Any of these baits along with pompano jigs will produce some fine fillets. The bite will continue into the summer.

The Redfish are in the bay as well as the beach surf. They are caught year round on various baits, both dead and alive. Hard fighters and great on the grill.

The Cobia season is here as they migrate to the west. We site hunt them then cast live eels, live Pin fish and cobia jigs. The migration lasts through May.

The King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel will start to show up in March and they will be here until November. Spanish will be on fire in August.

Speckled Sea Trout are still in the upper bay area but will be moving south all the way to the beaches. During April as the bay water temps rise, trout will strike most artificial lures as well as live croakers, shrimp, menhaden, and pinfish.

Triple Tail will start to show in June and I am still looking for them through October. Live shrimp under a cork. November will find our bull red run starting off our beaches. Can be site casted with top water plugs. Large jig heads and long plastic bodies produce daily. You can legally keep 1 bull red over 26 inches but remember they are the future as they are doing the spawning so mostly this is a catch and release bite.
